If I am making your point for you, then that tells you that I was never saying what you thought I was in the first place. One more time: employers that refuse to provide healthcare benefits for their employees are douchebags, and they should really strive to be better people. Fin.

The law requires that if he has over 50 employees, he must provide healthcare.

This is BS dude. He is being a great guy by providing them with a job that pays a competitive wage. If he wasn't providing them a job, they would be jobless, homeless, and a drain on society. The employer is awesome for risking his capital and paying people money. How can you not see this?

Nah - the employees are being great people by working for this guy & therefore allowing him to have a successful business. Otherwise, he'd have to shut it down & go be a drain on society like everyone else that wasn't nice enought to work for him. (clearly we are being hyberbolic, here - or at least I hope you were)

No problem, just go read the entire Obamacare Act and get back to me with specific answers to my questions.

Is it really cheaper for him to pay the fines than to offer insurance to his employees?

So who is forcing the employees to go work for the company that doesn't offer benefits? What if the employee doesn't want health insurance, but would rather have a bigger check? Or maybe the employee is ok with a smaller check and no health care because of some other reason. Maybe the employee and the employer should sort it out. But fuck, we can't have that. Contained Chaos and the government know better than individual employees and employers how compensation packages should be structured.

I think its pretty douchey that my bost doesn't pay me 250 grand. CC, can you see to it that a law is passed that makes my boss pay me 250 grand?
