but seriously, what else? i mean, yes, he blames Bush for the economy he inherited but is that true or not? it was an illusion to think that anything any president would have done in the past 6 years would have been enough to make the economy better, not after decades of bad economic practices. you just don't bounce back from things like that; it takes time. plus President's cannot create an industry strong enough to lead an economic recovery and we haven't had that even though oil and gas look like they might finally be that industry now. has the dude done everything right? no, of course not and he's a public figure and when you are a public figure you open yourself up to immense criticism. not saying don't criticize the guy if you disagree but he's also one guy, just like any other President and in many ways encumbered by the willingness for others to work with him or her.
Who got fired over the Obamacare mess? I mean, we got a sorry MONTHS after the shit hit the fan. WTF was he doing for years? It doesn't matter what Bush did. Bush should have never left his mouth. Focus on the future and move forward.
@Tiger in NC oh its pretty simple. Just about everything that myself, @lsutiga @tirk @uscvball and a few others have said bo would do he has done, in spades. The whole time listening to you guys tell us we have it wrong. Then we are supposed to just keep looking the other way. In my opinion the guy is a socialist and would love nothing more than to run this country right into the ground so he can make it more like what he really wants. Just my opinion, thing is, his actions back my argument more than they do yours.
You are right about the Obamacare mess; I agree someone should have been fired. It's not like it sneaked up on them. I also share your frustration about the rollout, especially as someone who has defended the law for the past four years. It does matter what Bush did, just like it matters what Clinton and Reagan and Kennedy and every other President did. It's how we learn what not to do next time. Obama will be no different.
The Wall Street Journal has a great write up. http://m.us.wsj.com/articles/SB10001424052702303460004579192081764514664?mg=reno64-wsj
okay, fair enough, and thanks for giving me a straight answer. now, in all seriousness again, what did you think he would do that he has done? this is not a leading or baited question, I'm genuinely trying to understand your perspective here.
That was sincere, asshole. APOLOGIZE?!?! He reluctantly choked out some mumbo jumbo without directly coming out and saying it. It was half-hearted and only cause fellow Democrats were about to roll over like a 20 year old, male college boy after he nails the prize he brought home from the bar.
A couple of quotes from the Wall Street Journal. This year eHealth reported that its data show individual premiums must be 47% higher than the old average to fund the new categories in the individual market. If the old individual market was as bad as Mr. Obama said it was, then he shouldn't pretend it's a place worth going back to, even for a year's delay. His "fix" is necessary politically because ObamaCare's willful destruction of this alternative is the worst act of government mayhem since FDR's National Recovery Act. The Affordable Care Act's main achievement is turning out to be diminishing affordable care.
my buddy is an insider, outside the administration. We are only at 10 - 15% of the worst. The reconciliation of payments is beyond anyone's vocabulary to describe. OBAMACARE will equal the destruction of Berlin in regards to regime change before it is over. Oh, and one more time, I am for national health care.
