Uh, bad news bro but it has already passed. Only hope of saving this country's ass is to get it "un-passed".

But to answer your question, of course he does. That cat has an obama kool aid IV running through him.

Tiga, hate to break it to you buddy but this "thing" has already passed and been signed into law. The only way you are getting rid of it is if republicans can hold the house and win the senate in 2014 then win the presidency in 2016.

Let me make a long story real short for you.....it ain't happening. Like it or not the healthcare law is here to stay.

I know. I meant working/staying. But NC, don't think that the only way we get rid of it is in the scenario you said. Democrats are jumping ship over this thing as we speak. They see the bricks on the wall. They aint boiling shrooms and jammin to Pink Floyd, either.

As bad as you think Obamacare is (and it's not) it's better than what we had a year ago...

    Perspective.

...and I'm laughing at all of the people bitching that they're not getting to keep insurance that is basically a rip-off.

My insurance is not a rip off. It's exactly what I want and i can't keep it because your hero lied. But I guess he knows better than me. Maybe you're a little sheep that can't make decisions without someone telling you what to do but I'm not. I'm laughing at people like you that suckle at the government teet for solutions.

One of the problems is that while all the screw ups are making the news and the hard stuff is being extended the goodies are being left in place. The provisions for extending children until 26, no preceding conditions and no limit on care are going to be in place. This is a carrot that is not being paid for but enough people will want to have that it will be next to impossible to give back. The Ds are counting on this to keep Obamacare afloat and stuff it down our throats.

Just like Medicare and the many expansions the libs over promise and under perform but the sweets that too many from all walks get hooked and fight to keep their mouths on the government teat. Remember the tea party signs saying "keep the government out of my medicare"?

The Rs need a plan that recognizes that fact and addresses the true issue that medical costs are arrived at in an enviornment of zero real competition from crony capitalism. Look at how the insurance companies have supported Obamacare. They are seeing big profits in the future. Same with hospitals and big pharma. They have been taken care of and will reap $$$$. The middle class and doctors will be the ones screwed by this.

The whole exchange between patient, doctor and the hospitals/insurance/pharma needs to change. We need open competition to set prices and develop real costs. There has been too long a disconnect between these parties that is reflected in the rise of health care over and above both inflation and what would account for developments. When is the last time anyone dared negotiate with doctors, hospitals or insurance over the cost of a prodedure? We meekly take what they charge without a clue as to the true value. I'm not even sure if the hospitals etc know their true costs.

The first thing I would do is make all publish their prices charged for all procedures, insurance, drugs etc. Then we could decide where the best deal is. It is being done on a small scale today. I recently read where several big companies including Walmart shop for prices and in one case offered an employee a free knee replacement if it was done at a different hospital than his local. Open competition is the food of a free, healthy and dynamic society.

It has been estimated we waste $750 billion a year in healthcare spending. Saving a portion of that would make the economy healthier and allow for some of the goodies the Ds put in Obamacare to be paid for at a much more reasonable cost to the individual.

Blindly voting to revoke it is a dead end and to me shows the Rs have no clue how to truly lead. They need to develop a real answer and put it forward in a positive manner and address the problems of Obama's folly with real solutions. You know the Ds and libs will keep giving away things as bribes for votes without concern for the costs to our country or society.

Dems are talking it up for political reasons but make no mistake, they aren't going to jump ship unless it is a complete failure. I do realize there is a good deal of conservative wishful thinking that it might somehow be revoked but the reality of it is that they would be much better served trying to improve the law. Look, I also realize that the law has it's flaws but I also think that health care is such a serious issue, not a political one, that we need all hands on deck to make sure we get the flaws fixed sooner rather than later. Any law this big is bound to have overlooked things, to have made incorrect assumptions but it is in all of our interest to create a means of stemming the tide of rising costs and to do so without completely socializing medicine. Currently we have the far lefters wanting a single payer, medicare for all system and the far righters wanting......uh.....oh, that's right, they don't even know what they want and that's a problem too.

Mobius, what was it about your current insurance that makes it ineligible under the ACA?
