Large standing military has nothing to do with the budget IMO. The technology is getting so advanced that a few new drones more than equals a 1,000 troops. For example, an F-15, from the 70's, is still worth 30 mill....It easily cost upwards of 3-5 mil in maintenance. I know there is a lot of old technology that is just sucking some budgets dry with maintenance costs. Things like that deff need to go or be sold to other countries.
No they aren't. I am sure some illegals vote and some side money gets taken, but for the most part, its all legit.
Exactly! We are fighting much smarter these days and as a result I think there are probably quite a few areas, like the few that you mentioned, where we could make cuts that wouldn't make us any less safe. I am an advocate of a strong military but with our technology the definition of a strong military is rapidly changing.
Only government is not a business. Mike Foster found that out in Louisiana, when he tried to run government like a business and discovered that it is a far different kind of animal. Romney discovered this quickly in Massachusetts. He was used being a CEO that could just order something to be done. He suffered much criticism for being naive on how to deal with other elected representatives, a government bureaucracy, and an actual constituency. Don't change the subject, I was speaking of Romney's talking points. You can find Obama's plan on his website. But those cuts benefitted the rich more than it did the middle class. How can you support tax cuts that come without spending cuts and force the nation to borrow? Examples? Do you want to live in a polluted land, you actually approve of that? Interesting. What exactly do you support about health care reform? You just make a fool of yourself with these schoolyard insults and demonstrate that you can't argue the issue. Talk about naive . . .
Except, Romney knows what policies are good for business and which ones are not. How regulations and public unions drive businesses decisions. He knows what can create an atmosphere where businesses can invest more so than the civil service leader Obama. Its a difference of opinion in that I have realized you are not going to agree with me while I do not agree with you. Lighten up a little. Everyone is so uptight around here. Have a beer and relax. Proclaim yourself victor b/c I dont agree with your approach to how Americans should live.
Yea, thats it. I want to live in a polluted land. You got me. Meanwhile, the EPA tells people where they can build homes.
Funny, . . . in Massachusetts Romney enacted Obamacare before Obama. He described himself as "not a partisan Republican" but rather a "moderate" with "progressive" views. Romney also closed tax loopholes that brought in another $181 million from businesses over the next two years and over $300 million for his term, in the face of conservative and corporate critics that considered them tax increases. Many on the far right consider him a RINO. "Debate is a blood sport" -- Melvin Tolson. You have to break some eggs to make an omelette.
