AA is crippling racist, counterproductive, and wildly disrespectful to literally everyone involved. it has one motivation, to assuage the guilt of privileged white *******s. more than any issue i think this one exposes the shocking hypocrisy of the left.
Two factual points: 1. I am on record here as not approving of affirmative action. It should have lasted 20 year at best--one generation--to compensate for the Jim Crow generation being held back. It should never go on forever. 2. Affirmative action was instituted by John Kennedy . . . in 1961, five months before Obama was born.
right, well the article is actually kinda stupid. it makes decent points, that obama is definitely given a free ride because he is black and he is loved by whites because he is black and not an idiot. but the article fails to acknowledge that obama genuinely is articulate and smart and has actually accomplished things. not the kinda things your typical president has accomplished, but he is ok. bush was not exactly the most accomplished fella either. the tragedy of AA is that it makes me suspect black people rose to their positions because of their race and not merit. and that is tremendously damaging to black folks. they should never be treated differently. (in my case this should mean i get to hurl racial slurs at them like to do with every other group). we cant ever really expect to think of each other as equals when our official policy is that we are not to be treated as equals. its like when you see a hot girl in a position of authority. you wonder if she is really talented or if she is just hot. because that is the way the world works. hot chicks get whatever they want. and thats good for hot chicks but bad for hot chicks who are actually competent. same with blacks and affirmative action and the general way we treat them. when a black man is powerful, like obama, you wonder if was helped along the way. i think in obama's case, he was, because everyone is so desperate to promote a black man to a high position, because of our white guilt. also i should note that the hot chick that is actually competent almost does not really exist because hot chicks never have any need to do anything well.
Like so many other programs (and taxes) originating from the left...once it starts they never let it end. The federal government is controlled by the politically correct who are willing to sell their soul for votes. This program (like so many others) has out-lived its usefullness. The same people who support this are the ones who always demand dates from across the aisle. They demand to know when a war will end from the day the first shot is fired. They demand to know when Gitmo will close. They're alwways making demands and want exact dates of completion. Why don't these same people give us a date when Affirmative Action will end? Why do their programs run indefinitely? Why don't they practice what they preach? Oh yeah I forgot...they're liberals...and they're allowed to have double standards and be hypocrites.
Come on Purple they are all hypocrites, liars, criminals, and only care about themselves and the people who pump dollars into their campaigns, and their buddies that they can make millions off of when their career in politics is over.
If they're ALL "hypocrites, liars, criminals" then why do you have an anti-republican message attached to all your responses. If they're ALL the same why do you choose Democrats? IMO there are plenty of bad apples on both side of the aisle. The problem I have with Democrats is everything is a double-standard with them. There are many hypocrites in this world but none compare to the Democratic Party in the U.S. - not even close.
because i feel that they are really evil, like, would make arsenic a childhood food if it made them money, whereas democrats are just a bunch of spineless idiots, kind of like the criminal that leaves his i.d. at the bank he robs. Now when it comes to lying, the democrats have that one in the bag.
