Nice win by your Tigers, I didn't see much of the second half, but they looked very tough in the first....
which is why i said leadership is not relevant. hitler could really get people to rally behind him, and his cause was awful. he could get stuff done.
This is the classic dichotomy. Was Hitler a great leader because of a series of great attainments or a poor leader because the end results of his accomplishments was a disaster. The cynical intellectual says both. The elitist iconoclast says it doesn't matter.
i used to kinda think that we dont even really need a smart president, just one with good principles. but recently i have been rethinking this one. for example i used to say that sarah palin would be a better president than barack obama. and she would. but there is a risk, because if a real emergency came up, a standoff with a foreign leader or some sort of brinksmanship or chess match with north korea or something, i would worry that palin was way too stupid and would rather have obama. of course palin would be be better with domestic spending policy, probably. and that would be more important in real terms, like how much it matters to the regular fellow. obviously the solution is a smarter president with better principles, like cheney or giuliani.
