I'm trying to listen for something but it's typical hollow rhetoric. With a few minutes to go this may have been the worst presidential speech ever. Why did this require a prime-time address? How many times has he said "You should pass it right away!" He hasn't had a plan but now we should pass this right away. What? Don't read it!...just pass it! (Sounds like the health care fiasco.) Who are these underprivileged who desperately want to work? Let's get a list started. I want proof they exist and want to know who they are. When we offer them a job and they refuse in lieu of government assistance...let's cut them off. He said his plan "will provide a jolt". Haven't we heard that before? How's that working out for us? :dis: He mentioned bridges, roads, and schools. Did they fall into disrepair in the last few months? Why wasn't this an issue two years ago? Why now? He wants Fords and Cheys in Asia. Maybe he should stop caving to the UAW so the American market would be more competitive. After all of that...What's the FREAKING plan? He talks a lot but NEVER answers the question of HOW? I don't see how anyone can have confidence in this guy. Mr. Excuse has become Jimmy Carter.
He just wants to hook up his union buddies one more time before he gets booted out of office. I wonder how many union boards he will be a member of after leaving office?
Just make sure everyone gets their food stamps, welfare, and and fatass stimulus checks before you jet. :dis:
There are some things he said that could get bi-partisan support. The idea of extending payroll tax cuts for one. And re-working the tax codes so many corporae loopholes and deductions can be eliminated thereby reducing the corporate tax rate is an idea the GOP has been pushing for some time. I was glad to hear him admit that the U.S. corporate tax rate is amoung the highest in the world. Giving small businesses tax cuts for hiring is also an idea Republicans can go along with. I was also glad someone has finally started talking about re-establishing American manufacturing. But spending $450 billion on another stimulus may not sit so well depending on hoiw it is paid for. That will be a hard sell.
Once again, Obama is all talk. Now let's wait another couple of weeks to see how he plans to pay for it. Then a few months of political posturing and blaming Republicans, then another sppech and next thing you know it's November 2012 and every one is still banking on hope and change.
Where in the Frick does he think he's gonna get 450,000,000,000$ from? Is he gonna just print it? If he stole every floppin dollar from the super rich it probably wouldn't be 450,000,000,000$. I would bet everything I own that there would be language in that bill stipulating that union only companies get first crack at the work. This dude is a complete floppin idiot if he thinks this congress is going to give him another 450,000,000,000$. Any legislator from Louisiana , especially what he has allowed to happen regarding the permiting of oil well drilling, that gives this asz crack another 450,000,000,000$ should be arrested and shot as soon as they step foot back in the state. Republicans- hold the line! Don't cave! Don't spend anymore money for this asz crack to pay off his liberal friends. Liberals fire away!
