Just in time for the elections. This is bullsh!t. Salazar has no intention of releasing permits anytime soon. Local oil people feel that the new requirements will be impossible to meet. Nothing has changed, but Obama gives the appearance of doing something right before 11/2. What a crock. Obama Administration Lifts Deepwater Drilling Moratorium - FoxNews.com
My stepson was talking with Amanda this morning about the miners being rescued and she was telling him about the president of chille and his efforts to get them out. He asked her "Mom what would obama have done" I was walking by and heard her say "blamed it on someone else" I have never been more proud of her!!
Read between the lines. He said drilling will be allowed for those who can reach "the higher bar" they've set. Scott Angelle says "we've only crossed the 50 yard line" toward resuming drilling. Plus look at Salazar's history. If it was up to him, there would be NO drilling at all. I'll bet you a case of beer that there will be no deepwater permits issued before the election.
Reading between the lines is dangerous where politicians are concerned. They can only be held to what they say in the presence of a microphone. Geez, look at Angelles history! He's a whore to political interests AND in Big Oil's pocket. If his mouth is moving he's promoting a special interest, often several. Sucker bet. It takes longer than that to get a permit through under normal circumstances.
You cannot deny that Salazar is a green freak. You don't know what you're talking about. His history is service to his community. The hoops they'll have to jump through will severely curtail the amount of deepwater drilling and in turn, jobs and much needed oil will go wanting. Of course that's right up Obama's alley. Make the suckers as dependent on him as possible.
I'm only denying that he "has no intention" of allowing permits. Ahhh, of course, you're his official biographer . . . :hihi: Career politician, that's about right, don't forget that he's an oil man, too. Look, I know the guy--done much business with DNR, nice feller and a smart feller . . . but he's a political appointee and the tool of the governor . . . and great friend of the oil industry.
He's a personal friend, my kids played with his kids, etc etc and I'm telling you he is a man of unquestioned integrity.
Whether it was a knee jerk reaction or a "green" ploy, the moratorium should NEVER had occurred. It's too bad Louisiana doesn't have more Electoral College votes.
