yeah, that's the way i took your comments as well. any President would have made the same decision Obama did. even Carter authorized a covert special-ops mission to free the US hostages in Iran, which resulted in the deaths of eight US servicemen. their memorial in Arlington National Cemetery: here, man. this one wouldn't be an offensive one to set as your avatar:
We're lucky OBL didn't hightail it. If he "slept on it" that's sheer cowardice and/or incompetence. You are also full of rooster sh!t. His decision was based entirely upon political considerations and Valerie Jarrett was the only one voting against the raid.
If he put that as his avatar, I'd look. As far as Carter, SOF has come a long way since then, in training, experience and joint operations. That mission was a failure, but it changed the way SOF operates. Plus, the 70's wasn't exactly the proudest decade for the military.
While I'm at it, if these were military guys advising the use of "daisy cutters" or the MOAB, then the military isn't doing itself any favors by allowing these nitwits to advise the president. I don't have a lot of respect for most of the general officers in the Army these days, but even I will admit they aren't stupid. The collateral damage from even one of these munitions would created too much of a backlash. Overall, I think this is a lie. The MOAB or BLU could have been presented as an option, but I find it hard to believe a "military member" actually advised it be used.
Look here short round, I can 100% vouch for what AEN is saying. Cat and I stomped the same ground in '05/'06. Cats were slinging some serious lead and doing the carpet dance in front of our 06 for kicking iraqi ass all the time. The man knows what he is talking about.
Fortunately, I got to leave that place and go somewhere else in-country; you had to stay and deal with the 06. :yelwink2:
No one is flaunting anything except you, Jim. And I can "bring it" just as good, as long and as satisfying as you please. I just don't have any measure of "penis envy" like you do, so I don't feel the need to get into a pecker contest like you do, Peanut. I did my 20 and, sadly, had to write more letters to parents than anyone should have to...keeping in mind that human life is precious and that even one letter is too many. You served and I applaud you for that service, but, your service apparently has blinded you to the fact that all life is, in fact, of value and, as such, must be weighed against the benefits of each specific threat. I find it sadly pathetic that someone like you, who should know better, can be so attuned to military objectives and yet so oblivious to the cost to achieve them. The humanity and conscience that is required to weigh the objectives to the human cost is vital and carries considerable weight...sorry you've lost yours. I feel sorry for you.
