Moderate positions do not have to be centrist positions, how many times do I have to instruct you? The band of moderate thought is broad, lately broader than both right-wing and left-wing viewpoints which are increasingly narrow and increasing polarized.

thats actually incorrect. i favor the great institutions of capitalism and free enterprise and democracy and freedom from manipulation by governments. and i favor policies that favor these ideas. and that saves lives by the billions and makes the human race flourish and prosper. my principles are special they are the only things that ever worked.

    why is "broad" good?

narrow and polarized are also terms that are not descriptive in terms of the rightness of the views.

you need to stop judging your views against how they are perceived.

eventually we need to forget about trying to create a persona and philsophy for ourselves that we can like, and actually use rational principles to guide our thought.

most people just say "i want to be a liberal guy who cares about things", or i want to be the god fearing patriot", or i want to be the king solomon that is wise and moderate". they are creating a philosophy for themselves that makes them feel cool and makes them fit in with how they want to think of themselves. then they just adopt the positions adn policies that fall in line with how they want to think of themselves. that is not smart.

Take the day off and enjoy! We'll get back to the reality of the failed Obama administration tomorrow.
