And on the rare occasion when we do, we can't catch the ball.

What is frustrating is stubbornness to run between the tackles even when the defense is stacking the box. A great offense attacks the defense's weakness. If they are stacking the box, burn them on a quick slant.

But Miles can't shake that old Big Ten mentality of running the ball no matter what, even when the defensive scheme clearly out matches the play called.

Mett has shown the ability to audible at the line and take advantage of the defense. He needs to let go a little and trust his QB.

I really only saw this a few times in the game, but it is mystifying not to check out of an off-tackle play when they slide nine men up close.

While Mettenberger is looking at the sidelines waiting for that last-second play to come in, he's not reading the shifting defenses, who have learned to disguise coverages. Why not give him three plays and let him call them at the line? But Stud didn't even do that with senior quarterbacks last year.

Yes Red ... I know. But you'll find I'm the type who will proudly stand up and wear the badge of racists, sexists, bigot, homophobe, "troll", and now "negatiger". ... especially when I'm telling the truth.

... and I guess .. if that means I don't count as an LSU fan .... so be it. [secretly, yes .. I only come here to hope LSU Fails ... I'm really a Bama fan in disguise]:p

I've contributed lots of positive, even started some positive threads .. but of course .. you can't acknowledge that now. LOL

Let's give a little credit to Auburn's defensive ends who were very good. That being said we are going to see a lot of really good DE's the rest of the year. We went "max protection" a couple of times in the second half on long passes, both dropped/broken up, but were able to get long passes off, I think we'll see a lot more of this in the future, unless we can find defensive tackles who can handle the DE's we will face in SEC play the rest of the year one-on-one.

And that's got to be the reason that we rarely throw deep. When we throw deep and drop the ball, we've just wasted a down.

Injuries to our OL are certainly our biggest problem right now.

Landry and OB on are the only two wide receivers that should be going deep.
