I wasn't able to see the game so I have a question. Did they ever give out LT help with a TE chipping or back to slow down the rush? I mean if we are having issues and Josh D is the best option right now, do something to help him.

I believe if not for a sub-par offense, LSU could have at least two more crystal footballs than we currently do.

Think about some of the top coordinators in college ball right now and what they would do with LSU's offensive talent.

Miles has obviously achieved a lot of success but I think he could have actually achieved more and done so with a lot less close games and nail-biting if not for his poor offensive coaching. Just my opinion.

Could not agree more. For a top 5 team, we have the most unimaginative offense in all of college football. We have maybe a handful of plays that we run over and over again. It usually works against lesser teams, but we were exposed by a weak AU defense last night. I don't think it's going to fly going forward. We're going to have to get more creative and open it up a little or it's going to cost us down the road.

Right now, I don't think we beat South Carolina and certainly not Bama unless it's another low scoring games. Our offense is to easy to prepare against for teams with strong defenses.

Brace yourself folks ... here comes the "O-line controversy". :p

I think the O-line has been the weak link all along. Last year, our QBs took a lot of heat as being terrible, when in fact, no QB can perform with an O-line as terrible as ours.

I agree with the previous post ... maybe OC and Line Coach is too much for one person to handle. But the reality is, our guys on the line have to play better. They are one of the biggest O-lines in the nation, several 300+ pounders. There's no excuse for them to be as weak as they are.

I have no issues with the defense, amigo. But I do have issues with the offense and the buck stops with Stud. It's an old cliche that "defense wins championships" and you certainly can't win without it, but the reality is that it takes offense, defense and special teams to win championships. We can't just sit back and be proud of a tough defense and be content with an offense that is inconsistent or we return to 2008 and 2009.

on one play we chipped to help the RT but the RB on the left side didn't chip to help the LT and Mett got sacked from that side

we did a horrible job in pass protection almost the entire game long

Nonsense. The offensive line is not terrible, it is very good. But we lost an all-conference left tackle and have had to play an experienced guard there and he got hurt last week and is clearly not 100%. Dworaczyk gave up a big sack but he blocked effectively on the run.

It's just a matter of getting Dworacyk healthy and training him up or finding a youngster who can step in. But that youngster is going to give up big plays, too. I'll go with the 6th-year senior unless he's too brusied up to get it done. Hurst is no left tackle and Collins is too dominating at guard to move him out. Both have been tried there, but did not set the world on fire.

To anybody paying attention, this is NOT a terrible O-line, only a dedicated negaTiger would say so. It's an O-line missing a first-round LT and trying to replace him with a banged up guard.

I think more than anything its the play calling. Everyone knows whats coming next. LSU is so predictable. They rarely go deep. Everything is short or a run. So the D is stacked. Of course the OL will struggle, they are outnumbered every time. The OL has been inconsistent but I think most of it is due to play calling. The team as a whole has lacked a lot of focus. I dont blame Coach Stud. We could have Petrino as the OC, but until Miles gives more freedom we are gonna see this same pathetic O.

Yes ... for you football gurus ... they are splendid.

To us average smucks ... we just call it as we see it. Apparently one of the other Guru's agrees ... our pass protection is terrible. It was sub-par last year ... and it is sub-par this year ... especially given the talent that lines up.

I guess what we need is for JLee to come back so you can blame it on him ...

We can't go deep. ... the QB needs a minimal amount of protection in order for a deep play to develope. It ain't happening.
