    Reminds me of that movie Armageddon. This is a total thread detail, but Ben Affleck is quoted as asking Michael Bay why oil drillers are trained to be astronauts in that movie instead of training astronauts how to drill, and Michael Bay told him to shut the fuck up.

    The guns used in Sandy Hook were registered to Nancy Lanza in Connecticut which has very stringent gun laws including registration.

    Well, she didn't act responsibly with her guns, did she? She let a lunatic shoot them and he shot her. More incentive for responsible gun owners to properly safeguard their weapons. Registration helps make owners responsible, just like with cars.

    Don't be an idiot. It doesn't prevent misuse. It enables accountability.

    Cars are registered, licensed and inspected annually. Drivers are also licensed. But any kook can own any gun with no responsibility for it at all.
