I agree that NPR blew this one big time. They could have waited this one out to see if any pressure would build up to cause him to clarify his remarks or to leave on his own. I'll still pitch in during their beg a thon because while it may indirectly benefit NPR, the money goes more to supporting local stations. Besides, I do enjoy Car Talk, Wait Wait Dont Tell Me, Fresh Air, and On Point from time to time.

I think the following excerpt from an article written by NPR staff is teeming with subtext about the NPR staff's thoughts on why he was fired. I don't see a reason to punish the people who are directly responsible for producing their news for stupidity by their superiors.

Multiple failed wars, international condemnation, economic collapse, and wealth redistribution to the wealthiest? That's what you want back? :insane:

Only 8 years ago Republicans were saying that they would remain in power for 50 years. Six years later they were a shambles and almost took the country down economically. I think you overestimate how much Americans want that crap back.

Please don't edit my posts until you learn to punctuate and capitalize like modern humans do. Did you miss the whole Rise of Western Civilization thing? It's a sorry condition for a man of insight to write like Tarzan.

That's only your opinion. Sadaam and his evil seeds are dead and buried. That's success right there. Al qaeda is hiding in rocks. That's success.

So France hates us? Aw shucks. Let's keep Obama and watch the ass licking go on forever?

    The economy did not collapse...yet.

martin took care of that one.

really, the "international condemnation" thing. why do we give a damn about that? i honestly dont know what possible reason there is to care. perhaps if you are traveling you have a harder time picking up women? that would be terrible, but thats the only thing i can think of.

keep in mind that with the exception of maybe 4 or 5 countries in western europe and maybe japan, every other place on earth is run by asshats and corrupt morons. to be wrong by them is a good thing.
