My recollection of hayrides would be difficult to top in terms of fond memories.:wave:

 

No thanks...not my Tigers. Its possible dude got into some financial difficulty and had to pawn the ring or sell it. Or maybe he passed and it was part of the estate. I don't think he would have let the thing go otherwise.

My post was only intended to point out that comparing national publications to a computer poll (and all the story lines that went with it) isn't what I would consider comparing apples to apples.

The voting groups I mentioned in my post earlier is from a couple of publications I have around the house. I looked at three of them just to make sure they said the same thing. They did.

Like I've said before, I don't find any profit in bantering back and forth on who has this many 'ships and who doesn't. What a school chooses to recognize is that schools decision. For every argument against, you can find an argument for...

Heck, I don't discount the '57 championship but there are plenty of arguments about that year starting from the AP poll was changed in '58 because of the PR campaign to get votes for Auburn. I've seen so many people talk about '57, '93, etc. in terms of probation.

I look at it as a successful year in your history. It should be something to be proud of despite what others may throw out there. NC threads, 99% of the time, are attempts to demean another school when there are plenty of opportunities to be proud of one's own schools accomplishments. It's not smack at its lowest form, but it's pretty damn close.

Trivial Note: Heard on the radio that this was supposedly Alley Broussard's ring (according to the seller).. though Alley Broussard reported his ring stolen sometime after the NC game and tried to get it replaced. Not sure who the liar is here... The radio, the seller, or AB... but it's one of em... lol

Man, and you can tell that by the excitement level here...probably would have been more fun for them had they driven through town at say "75MPH"? I know if I'd have been in one of those flimsy azz trailers doing 75MPH I'd have been "excited". They look like they just got up after an "all nighter" at the local funeral home!:rofl:

 

The only thing I have to say is that if you come out of the SEC undefeated, you ought to at least be able to play for the championship.
