How important are the stars and reputation? I'm glad to see I'm off to a "good start" but I don't think I would have posted any differently even if I knew what it meant. Do alot of people pay attention to this?

The star thing is debatable. I dont think it really means that much. If you're around here enough you will figure out who makes good posts regardless of their stars.

It is kind of fun to see some idiot sporting a few red ones. :hihi:

Yeah, watching the occasional troll get red is fun.

I like giving rep to let posters know I appreciate their comment, that they made a big funny, etc. It's s nice way of giving feedback without stalling a thread with a ton "good post" posts. When I'm on other boards, I find myself looking for the rep button when someone says something worth offering kudos to.

Also, sometimes when a thread is busy or a post is extremely long, the rep count can give you a hint as to whether you should waste your time reading.

He wants everyone to think he's popular, I think it's a mod thing.

I am bad about it! I leave full messages on them!! A lot of times I run out of room and have to shorten them!!! I should really just try the PM function every once in awhile!
