This. Sorry, can't give you more rep yet. Those things you mentioned are pretty well documented, but some refuse to see them as truth. They see what they wanna see instead.

I know BHelm has a little insider knowledge, but ISLSTL, where do you get your 'knowledge' from? You got an LSU insider connection down there in Florida? I'll hang up and listen.

I don't necessarily think the "offense" is bad ... I just think Crowton doesn't know how to run his own fricken offense efficiently. The dude calls all the wrong plays for situations. AND .. then, we have these cluster f###'s like the last down of the AU game where noone knows what the frick is going on.

It's not good when your own head coach doesn't have a clue what is going on. Quoted from his interview ... "more than one call was made" ... WHAT???

I used to think it was JJ ... but I'm convinced now why JJ has that confused look on his face! The sideline doesn't give the poor kid any concise direction.

    Well said!

The Offense works. It's just not run properly, we don't recruit to fit that scheme, Les will never consent to a full-blown spread offense, etc.

Nothing new here. Poor public speaking doesn't necessarily mean he is dumb. It also doesn't make me feel like he has a clue.

JJ is limited, but it seems like a case of the blind leading the blind.

That really worked out well. We need to implement more decisions like that one. After going up 14-6 Vandy's slick new OC takes out QB Larry Smith who led them on two quick, crisp td drives on the Commodores' first two possessions and sends in the back-up. Vandy got 5 more total yards the rest of the game.

Where did all these rumors (that's all they are) about Les Miles handcuffing Gary Crowton come from?

Honestly, the stuff some people will believe...

Ya think that 14 points Vandy and their new OC put up will get them some BCS consideration?

BG has not done a good job as passing game co. That's what his title was when he came here. The recievers have not run crisp routes and routinly stop their route two yards short of the first down and fail to get the first down with a reception. Crowton needs to go. Right now fans are so desprate for change that gonzales looks like a good canidate but with his failure to ignite the passing game how can we expect him to be oc? He has failed as passing game co and that doesn't give me any confidence in him. He may be fighting a battle he can't win with crowton not allowing him to do what is needed for success. He may not be given much control by crowton but he should have taught these skilled , young recievers how to run routes that get first downs and the drops are inexcusable. When it's 3rd and 7 you don't run a 5 yard route. Bg didn't coach up these recievers so how can we expect him to coach up our qb's?

Yeah...I agree with you on a lot of points...I'm not impressed with BG as of yet. But I have to suggest that the above quote may not be all that accurate.

Where these receivers are stopping is probably where they should be getting the ball...except the play is meant to get them the ball in stride, and it's not happening. A late throw means the receiver has to stop his forward progress and usually gets cleaned up before he can get a first down. At least that's what I see a lot.

I see your point. This has went on all season. You have diiagnosed the problem with not getting the first downs and the coaches should have also. Adjustments should have been made in routes ran and it hasn't been done. I don't know who would devise the adjustments. I just see a struggling passing game. The qb's shoulder most of the blame but the drops are on the recievers. If bg can't fix the small problems like droped balls and route running then fixing the offense as a whole seems it would be too much. I also feel that the recievers are probably struggling as a result of frustration. Things just don't seem to be clicking and there is probably lots of pressure they put on themselves to make something happen instead of relaxing and just playing the game
