*DISCLAIMER* First off, I want to begin this thread for the easily offended by saying that this thread is not intended to flame in any way. Based on your defensive, offensive line, and quarterback performances last night, what is your intelligent analysis of your upcoming game with Alabama (which will decide the west). They have the best run defense in the SEC. They have the best running offense in the SEC. Their QB obviously is the most inconsistent in the SEC. Their secondary is not all that great. They are well coached (I know ya'll dont want to hear that). Just want your thoughts and opinions about it. Try to refrain from the "how about Ole Miss" comments. That game is over, our game is over. I'm moving on, so I hope you guys can also. Good football discussion? Ready. BREAK!
First off, if this was the way you posted when you first got here instead of trying to provoke or inflame, you'd be respected and represented your fan base in a positive light. Instead, you just re-enforced what many people already think of them. If you stick around, hopefully you continue with these types of threads, instead of those intent on pissing people off. Having said that, I honestly think we match up better with Bama. They have a more traditional offense, which to me, is easier to defend than the spread. Plus, the game is in BR and it's their coach's first time back since he took over that program. Emotions will be high, but I like our chances in this game. If we lose to them, especially the way we did last night, expect the us to be in full melt down mode.
November 8th is still a long way to go. That game won't determine the west if we lose more SEC games along the way. It's really hard to say now how we will do. Our team may improve or digress, it's really pointless to look that far ahead. One thing I know now, Bama's run D scares me. Jarrett Lee has some real growing up to do these next few weeks. Either way, I think it's gonna be a great game and regardless of how injured or bad we are playing, our players are gonna get psyched up for that game and it'll be a great one.
We play South Carolina next. You want my thoughts on South Caroline i will give them to you. If you dont then go back to meyerville and kiss and hug on him for a week you fly infested piece of dog excrement. We need to be focusing on our next game. Why dont you go back and examine your Ole Miss game and give us your thoughts on that.
Kind of late to be polite. Those red X's say that we already think you're a jerk. But you want to build some bridges? Fine. See if you can earn some positive rep. Here is what I think. With it being an even-numbered year, losing 8 players to the NFL, Ryan Perrilloux being an idiot, and LSU coming off a Title Season, most of us had LSU figured for 10-2 and no trophies with the most likely loss being on the road at Florida. So far, LSU is about right on pre-season expectations. The size of the loss at Florida is surprising, though. Florida was intense and LSU was not. Florida was in a "have to win" situation and LSU was not. LSU has come from behind many times, but for the first time in the Les Miles era, effective adjustments were not made a halftime. I think the Ole Miss loss made the Tigers complacent about Florida and also made the Gators humiliated and galvanized them for this game. Ricky Jean-Francois is a beast of a defensive lineman, but he ain't no Einstein and his remarks just fired them up on top of that. Throw in a freshman quarterback and a hostile night crowd and it just got out of hand. But the season ain't finished. Assuming that LSU is "over" is a mistake. Ya' think Nick is taking us lightly? Bama is playing lights out, but they are young, they are shallow, and they still play the meat of their SEC West competition. Can they play this way all season? Maybe, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it. Just three years ago, Alabama started 9-0 and dropped the LSU and Auburn games. Nobody gets out of the SEC undefeated this year. At least we were beaten by a contender.
This game is just under a month away. Let's see how the team comes back against South Carolina before we start prognosticating about how the team will do against Bama. I do believe that if LSU and Alabama have respectable records that week, Gameday will be in Baton Rouge.
