How many SEC teams would/should have beaten ND this year? I'm saying at least six. Bama of course, LSU, aTm, Georgia, Florida and South Carolina. Which means IF they were in the SEC they would probably be in the middle of the pack.
I found it interesting that Brent Musberger said something about Notre Dame being a couple of years ahead of schedule. Did he mean that the media was on ND's jock too fast or was he just meaning that they overachieved?
The media was always on their jock. Every year in the first week of football, they talk about how ND's going to surprise people "this year". While they DID surprise me this year, I knew they weren't elite by any means.
Nothing will change with the media. ND will coast through through the first part of September and the media will predicting them in the MNC game again. Preseason #5 you think?
Notre Dame didn't show up. I can't figure out why Ohio State & Notre Dame play horribly in the BCSNC?
The media are still infatuated with their re-runs of "Rudy" and "The Knute Rockne Story." Wanting ND to be truly great once again doesn't make it so! "Welcome to the SEC"
Because the teams they play en route to the BCSNCG suck, by and large. That's why we're now on an 8-year SEC streak of national championships. No matter how bad the rest of the country wants it not to be so.
