There's no easy road, I'm afraid. And when you've been in the Top 5 the ENTIRE season, you are the highlight of EVERY opponent's schedule. So, yes. LSU is probably the most reviewed, most televised, most analyzed team of the year. Makes it that much harder. And, it's cliche sorta, but look at the schedule. It has been tough. No rest - even Ole Miss brought their A++++ game (minus the two unforced turnovers, one a desperation last minute heave). Good post, v-ball. But it shouldn't scare anyone. Because, despite all that, LSU won and is 10-1 after what has to be one of the toughest schedules in the nation. One. Game. At. A. Time. :geaux:
Ummm how about the fact that we're 11th in scoring offense in the nation and 13th in rushing offense???
Still bothered are you? Sorry, couldn't resist. Stop obsessing over USC! We haven't been a factor since we LOST TO STANFORD. All of those things you listed are true, but it doesn't dismiss the trends I pointed out. 9-10 on 4th downs won't last forever. Arkie and JawJaw will bring their best, more injuries may be the result. No reason LSU can't or won't win those games but some things have got to change.
After a grueling SEC schedule, we're a little tired and a little banged up right now, specifically on defense. This is when our vaunted depth should come into play. IF we can get by these next 2 games, we will be rested and healthy for the NC game. I promise you, you will see the team we had at the beginning of the year in the +1 game.
i dont fear uga, but i think their best is closer to LSU's best than any other sec team. go ut! upward trend of oppts ppg. dont have the #s, but i'd bet Os tend to score more as the season progresses (i doubt lsu's D would hold miss st and vatech to the same scores now---theyve figured some things out). also throw out the 43, sort of, OT game. LSU receiving yds upward trend---shows better offensive execution. tons of drops early on, and no early doucet for most of the first half. id say the sacks on LSU are flat. overall, LSUs D is taking hits because of better Os, some injuries, and oppts have more knowledge of how to attack. what many are overlooking is the improving LSU O. can outscore any team. its funny, here in athens, much was made of their recent string of 3 games scoring over 40 (first time since early 80s). LSU has done it twice this season.
LOL. some of this is pretty accurate BUT b4 we start thinking of ways to lose ( yes I recognized the saracasm ) .....I've maintained through out this season that if WE bring our A game, and we're healthy.....not only do we win....No one can play with us. AND that is what the voters have known all year. and they are waiting for the entire LSU offense/defense to be well and play a total A game to verify what they all know. Actaully, it would be a pretty dull game if we bring our A game. us hitting on ALL cylinders? name a team that could hang? dont exist this year.
Nah, that doesn't bother me much. (although that isone ugly sum-b!tch in that pic.:hihi: I'm not obsessing over anyone. I only threw that out there to mess with you. Bring on Arky, Jawja, Tenn., WVU, tOSU, Kansas, Missouri, whoever. All season long, people have been saying the same thing. People are saying we're winning despite our coach. People are saying the penalties are gonna cost us a game. They're saying turnovers are gonna cost us a game. They're saying special teams are gonna cost us a game. Everyone says that by this time in the season, these problems aren't flukes, they're trends. Well, guess what, by this time of the season, wins ain't a fluke either, they're trends.
Neither me, though I'd think they're our most formidable opponent, I think it would be all the more satisfying. Phil can't sniff Richt.....right Terry?
