Our SOS is really hurting us. We moved from # 50 last week in the RPI to # 49this week after beating two weak teams.

Our SOS is # 117. That is the difference. We barely moved.

We had our chance against Xaiver but lost that game and the blow out 30 point loss to Utah is stuck in voters minds.

We need to just keep winning. MSU this Wednesday is the next test.

Nobody moved at all. That is the Feb 2 AP and Coaches Polls with updated records through Feb 9. Under the "previous rank" column, that shows the rankings from the Jan 26 AP and Coaches Polls (two weeks ago).

Nah...we played two sad teams this week. If we win both of our games this week, I think we'll be ranked. And I feel like we'll basically lock up the West if we do so.

This is the worst I've seen the SEC in basketball as far as great teams go (as far as I can remember anyway). There just aren't any dominating teams. LSU's dominating most SEC teams, but the teams aren't that great. I think there is a decent number of pretty good teams that can get you on any night, but no fantastic ones.

Without a doubt though, LSU has been playing the best. I think South Carolina is playing very good as well (and I think our most impressive win looking at how we beat them). Florida is good, Miss. St. is pretty good at times and UK is good at times and not there at others.

This is the year to try and take it.

I don't think anything short of a win over UK on the road will do it. No one respects this conference nationally right now. On the plus side, I like our team playing with a "no respect" chip headed into the home stretch.

It is the Feb 2 poll, ESPN doesn't even have an updated one up yet.

    Parrish has us at 20

    20 LSU 23 19-4 7-1 W 80-62, at Georgia
    W 76-62, Alabama
    Feb. 11, at Mississippi State

The Tigers avenged their only league loss by dismantling Alabama on Sunday.

In the Feb 2 AP, LSU was #30 (36 votes), South Carolina was #31 (33 votes), Florida was #34 (24 votes), and Kentucky was tied for #42 (2 votes).

In the Feb 2 Coaches, LSU was #33 (10 votes), South Carolina was #34 (8 votes), Florida was #35 (6 votes), and Kentucky was tied for #38 (3 votes).

As for Miss St, they haven't gotten any votes for either poll this season.

LSU got poll votes for six AP polls straight to start of the season, and started getting AP poll votes again three weeks ago. In the Coaches, LSU has gotten poll votes in 7 of the last 9 polls.

Bama got some votes in the early AP Polls, but none in the Coaches.

Vandy got some votes in both the early polls.

Tennessee was ranked in the Top 25 for the first 9 or so weeks in both polls, making it to the Top 10 in both polls at one point.

Florida is the only SEC team that has gotten poll votes all year long, they did so in both polls -- including four weeks in the Top 25 early in the season in both polls. The AP had Florida at #24 three weeks ago.

Kentucky has been getting votes for both polls for the last three or four weeks, even reaching #24 two weeks ago in the AP.

South Carolina just start getting poll votes over the last two or three weeks.

The only other SEC team that has gotten poll votes was Arkansas. Four polls ago, they got votes in both polls for 3 weeks straight, but they didn't get any votes in the last poll.
