I think you're being sarcastic. But just in case let me say realistic expectations can yield far more fun and enjoyment than "all or nothing" mania.

For starters, people here view JJ in the wrong light. They were so aggitated at the struggles of J.Lee and Hatch last season that all they wanted was to see JJ in a game. He got in a game and it's not what he did that impressed you all, it's what he DIDN'T DO: He didn't turn the ball over via INT.

But in NONE of JJ's 5 games has he EVER eclipsed the 200 yard passing mark. His 173 yard, 3 TD performance against Washington was statistically his BEST GAME.

Don't you think 173 yards as your BEST game isn't typically what should make people name him the next Drew Brees??? He's not even the next Matt FLynn yet!

Until his accuracy improves and starts connecting on those long pass plays, the defense will continue to stack 8 men in the box to shut down the running game.

But quit complaining about him. He's only made 5 STARTS. FIVE! Name me a program that had a 19 year old with 5 starts under his belt to win a national title????

"Oh but we have too much talent". Bull crap! It STILL runs through the QB. We are NOT rebuilding. We're reloading. If we lose 4 games this season SO WHAT! LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE: We're brining along a VERY YOUNG group of QB's. Their struggles and growing pains puts added pressure on a defense already concerning themselves with learning a new defensive system.

It's NOT like JJ is a (RS) Junior or Senior with years of experience under his belt.

Now I'm NOT lobbying for a QB change but consider this: J.Lee had 7 games where he threw for more yards in a game than what JJ has done and Lee had 4 games over 200 yards with a high of 261 (against Miss St). But Lee just threw 7 pick-sixes and that was ultimately his downfall.

When you're breaking in an OLine that is without Herman Johnson and you are dealing with 2 new, and just as inexperienced as JJ, you're going to struggle early on.

Personally, if playing/dealing with a stable of young but extremely talented QB's (JJ, J.Lee and Shep) and taking some lumps and growing pains ultimately gives us seasoned veteran QB's for the next 2-4 years then that's what we have to do.

This "I don't think he's an SEC QB" or "He's not capable of leading us to a title" is balloney. You are ALL just too damn spoiled with the Matt Mauck's, Matt Flynn's and Rohan Davey's that you simply forgot just how long it took ALL of them to take center stage as a starting QB and be the prolific player that they turned out to be.

When JJ starts hitting on some long balls and shows a defense that he can successfully stretch the field, it'll take pressure off the OLine and open up the running game. It'll open up OUR defense too!

We dont' have to play "close to the vest" if we have multiple possession leads. People don't realize that every blitz you call has the potential to do 2 things: MAKE a big play (sack, turnover, etc.) OR GIVE UP A BIG PLAY because you're taking every blitzing player out of coverage. You can be more aggressive with blitzing once you have a quick-strike offense. But asking a 19-year old with only 5 games of experience to be the quick-strike offensive QB that 5th-year Sr's Flynn and Davey were is ridiculous!!!!

And every game that we don't hit a big play or don't attempt a big play is NOT an indication that Crowton is vanilla or Miles is being too "Big Ten" or JJ can't do it. Sometimes defenses will stay deep to prevent you from getting that big play, choosing to force you to beat them with the short game. Jefferson CAN play that.

If you want to stack the box against us and play 2-deep and force us to use the >15 yard routes? Fine. We've seen that 3-straight weeks to open the season. And guess what? It's NOT eyepopping on the stat sheets, but we took what the defenses gave us and came out on top each and every time. And we've avoided the INT bug that bit us all of last year. And yes, JJ dodged a MAJOR bullett last night in that department but he didn't give up 3 or 4 INT's. And you have to assume he'll be coached up and learned from it. You can't just automatically think that the coaches don't see/know more than what you see/know??? My money is on the coaching staff each and every time over malcontent and never satisfied LSU armchair coaches/drunks.

I think that's the key point. Inexperience ona very big stage. But there is a possibility that Jefferson just won't be able to connect timing wise on 30 yard passes this year.

Anyway - this program is in rare air and the fanbase that's doing the most irrational b!tching is probably too young or too new to remember when a 7 win season and a solid bowl victory was "gimme some skin" material.

I do...in fact i still think we were the best 4-7 team in the country in 98, hands down.

i was listening to espn radio yesterday morning on my way home and around 8:00 am (i cant remember who it was) aired an interview/post game clip with jim tressel. he was talking about how some fans must be miserable people judging by their nastiness in complaining about their team. and the whole topic was centered around that. rudness and nastiness by fans, especially on the internet. that its ok to complain about how a team played, but when it gets to the point there is no civility, and going on and on and on.... that some people have lost sight of what is important in life. that some people have no understanding these are college kids, not professionals. that its easy to be an internet tough guy. that the majority of fans will complain on sunday or monday, get it out of their systems, then go about their week. but a few have no life and cant let the misery and nastiness go.

i swear. i had not read the board since before the game and i thought of a few people around here. not all, just a few.

so i logged on last night after i got back and saw this thread. bravo atlanta.

its ok to complain. its ok to be worried. its not ok to shred college kids who are doing their best. its not ok to get nasty and lose all sense of civility.

I've been saying this for years. I see several posts where people are "worried" about how badly Fla and/or Bama will beat LSU. What will happen if they do? Will you be suspended from work for a week? Will you be struck down with a terrible illness?

I choose to let Miles and his staff do the worrying. I just look forward to gameday and all that goes with it. The only thing I worry about is a hurricane spoiling the weekend.

i live 650 miles from home and the forum/chat is as close to the tailgate experience as i can get.

thanks to many of you who enjoy the games and share your passion with other Tiger fans worldwide through this forum.

less thanks to the few goat-smelling pieces of crap whose sole mission in life seems to be to find every concievable fault, every error, every percieved (from their perspective) fault of the staff and players and then magnify them to an unbearable crescendo of loathing and defeatism.
