You're right, it was a fabulous game. I have only one regret, and that's Pellini playing max coverage instead of sending blitzers at an inexperienced QB on 4th. and 10 in the overtime. Arkansas didn't hesitate to do that on the failed 2 point try, and that was the difference.
get over it jabrones your team just isnt as good as yall thought just like UF isnt that good this year either thats all there is to it.
Not using the refs as an excuse, but there were some bad calls, I thought. The Chevis Jackson PI, there was a holding penalty on Arkansas which was called but in the left side of the frame you can see the Arky player has Ali Highsmith in a choke hold (almost) - What happens when there are two separate holding penalties on the same play? - and I wasn't so sure about the catch by the Arkansas player. It looked like he did not have control of the ball (it was third and long and this guy just caught the ball a bit short of first down).
The holding call on Helms was definitely a WTF moment for me. What hurt is LSU could have run the clock down on that drive and maybe won the game in the last minute (there was 6 minutes to go and the first down was at about the 38 yard line). Several running plays and short passes caught could have salted this game away. It was just not meant to be today.
The missed pass interference on Doucet on the goal line was bad too (didn't matter b/c they called a PF facemask or something). I thought the uncatchable ruling on the Dixon PI in the endzone was pretty bad too. Refs make bad calls every week. LSU still should have won this game.
