At least according to Cold Pizza. What is so great about Norv, again? I guess he will "develop" Rivers. I love him as an offensive coordinator, but not as a head coach.

It's just baffling. They fire a guy that goes 14-2 because he can't win in the playoffs then pick up a guy who is like 58-82 over his career and 1-1 in the playoffs. I'm glad I'm not a chargers fan because I would be pissed right now.

I think he was fired because he had a feud with the owner that has been festering for years and when he tried to hire someone after the playoffs he didnt care for, he gave MS the boot.:thumb:

Well, if A.J. Smith is as good a general manager as everyone says he is, the Chargers should be able to win with whoever is the head coach.

Of course, that is tongue in cheek. I can't believe the Chargers did this. Honestly, Norv will end up being a fall guy/scape goat/or whatever analogy you want to use because after he leads this team to subpar record, he will get fired and Parcells or Cowher will be waiting with glee.

What a mess. Norv Turner? Nothing says Super Bowl like being 24 games UNDER .500, huh?

And they hire Cottrell quickly, only to find out that Rivera was canned in Chicago. SO, they do the only reasonable thing, and hire him as LB coach.

AJ Smith is following the Dan Snyder Model.

I should add a disclaimer that Turner's head coaching experience is with two rather dysfunctional organizations at the time. Nevertheless, the Skins tenure is cause for concern -- for Chargers fans. Not for me...I've got enough to consider with the Texans and Fins and the possibility of either drafting Brady Quinn.

Or my ultimate Doomsday Scenario of the Texans trading Carr to the Fins, and then drafting Quinn. My head hurts.
