It would be like if an annoying little fat five year old threatened to beat up a guy like Shaq. Shaq continually laughs it off and then the kid throws a rock and splits his head open. Shaq then proceeds to tear him apart limb by limb with very little resistance. That's about as well as I could describe it.
Fucking North Koreans. I'm a fairly peaceful guy but I wish we could just make a K-Mart parking lot out of the entire country. Thing is, you notice that they never rear their ugly heads until they feel like some other "bad guy" is getting more attention than them. (think Assad in Syria and that nut job from Iran). This has been their pattern since the early nineties, maybe further back than that. IF, and I do mean IF, they ever decided to try and pop one of those things on us, they should hold a big celebration for the thirty minutes or so before we totally obliterated them. The North Koreans are crazy but they are not stupid and they know this. They are not like these crazy terrorists who blow themselves up. the handful of whackos running the NK government and military are in love with themselves and their power and would never do anything to jeopardize it. Saber rattling makes them look good and powerful to their people but that is as far as it will ever go IMO.
You really think Barry would send a nuke their way? Me? I think we would knock it out of the sky and yell at them or something. I just cannot see us using another nuke unless it is small/tactical or a global conflict.
First of all, I don't think they could nuke us if they wanted to. The real threat is if they nuke South Korea. Which if they did, we'd still obliterate them....and we would do so without nukes. We wouldn't need nukes to obliterate North Korea. All that being said, NK has been talking shit for a long time. Their only wish is to be relevant and to be taken seriously. No one takes them seriously because they are a joke. If a country that was an actual threat said that they were going to nuke us, we would deal with it much more swiftly and harshly. When NK says it, no one gives a shit.
I had a friend whose family escaped from NK to SK. The North Koreans are so indoctrinated and brainwashed that is is literally unfathomable. My friend, told me the first time he saw a map of the world he was shocked. He had always been taught that North Korea was a massive country and that it covered most of Asia, and that America was a tiny little speck of a nation.
They don't want ANY of S. Korea. As has been pointed out they just talk a bunch of crap. We have Troops stationed in S. Korea and while you will never see it "officially" we are not there to "assist SK in the event of an attack, we are there to keep the South Koreans from steam rolling over the DMZ and kicking some commie ass.
