Impact player as a true freshman.

Mark it down. Take a picture.

I don't care what you do.

    Just remember it.

knowing that he is coming to LSU, actually gives me some hope for the QB position next year.

For those concerned with the leadership aspect of this team, I am hear to tell you that will come to an abrupt end with the signing of Mr. Shepard.

As a true freshman, he will make an impact and be one of the leaders of this team. He will inspire others to perform at their best.

But do you really think he will be ready to play QB in the SEC as a true freshman? I know he can kill a team with his legs but he will need to complete passes against top notch defenses too. I see Jefferson being the #1 next season with Shep getting his feet wet with some playing time in each game. The kid has tremendous potential and could be a star at several positions but he does run more than he passes at this point in his career. I know he has a big arm and will develop into a passer, but it's a big step coming from a high school running style QB to being a starter in the SEC. I hope he wins the Heisman as a true freshman, but I think some are putting a little too much stock on him coming in and producing immediate results.

He'll be on the field somewhere. Whether he's getting snaps at QB or running routes.. or both :LSU231:

This is exactly right. If we are looking at a true freshman to assume leadership then that is selling our current players and program WAY too short. I dont believe our program is in that kind of shape. Shep is a great player in HIGH SCHOOL. He has a steep learning curve ahead of him. There are very few examples of great high school players coming into college and providing what is being talked about regarding this kid. The sunshine pumping about Shep is a little over the top. You cant seriously consider one true freshman as some mysterious missing link our program needs.

Shep is a natural leader. There is no reason he shouldnt see the field a good bit as a true freshman. The thing is he can be used in many positions and formantions, not just QB. He could get touches at QB, RB, and WR. As well as a return man. I just hope Miles puts the best kid in there. Jefferson showed a lot more poise and confidence yet has been sheltered. When its obvious that Lee had lost all confidence and was hurting the team more than helping.
