Reminds me of the Stros inexplicably signing Ausmus to a two year deal last year. Or the Texans giving Carr a three year extension, rather than two, even after they knew he might not be any good. Not sure why I'm so grumpy about Houston sports right now. Speaking of which, where's Bonzi? Back to the thread, $16M is crazy, but ultimately it's all Monopoly money.
You know, that ticks me off more than anything other than Casserly's draft futility. As recently as last year, we never had to be subjected to UH anything. NOW, sports radio, TV, newspaper -- it's all inundated with stupid Coog news, that quite literally nobody cares about. LSU had more commitments to a bowl we weren't guaranteed of going to, on the other side of the country, with a 10 X multiple on prices, than UH had in attendance for their CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP AT HOME! And now, thanks to all of the extra bowls, RICE is going to a bowl. So now, even that comes up from time to time. I guess the upside is it displaces some Longhorn talk, which is almost always a very good thing.
That little birdie needs to ask for a big raise and if he doesn't get it, start warming up those vocal cords.
