It's only one loss. No matter how ugly, no matter how painful, no matter how humiliating, it's ONLY ONE LOSS. I HATE losing. I hate it even more when we lose to CUM. Coming into this season, most of us figured the Tigers would go 10-2 or even 9-3. The Florida game, being a road game in a TOUGH place to win, was commonly accepted as a probable loss. Sure, we're all very upset today. And we should be. Losing is not fun. The Tigers looked sleepy in the first quarter. They looked stunned in the second quarter. In the third quarter, they really began to question themselves and by the fourth quarter, they actually looked defeated and confused. This wasn't supposed to happen. Not to US! You could almost see it in their eyes. The game sucked. CS said it best, "We played like crap." But maybe, just maybe, the Tigers will take this loss as a wake-up call. Maybe the next time they take the field they will START the game with their hair on fire and pound the Gamecocks into submission. Maybe they'll stop trash talking and simply start trashing the other team on the field, where it counts. Maybe this Tiger team needed to be reminded that you have to go 100% from the first play to the last. And that the other guys want to win, too. No one gives you a win. You have to go out there and take it from them. Maybe this loss will galvanize the Tigers. Energize them. Drive them to work harder. Because nobody likes losing.
the most important thing is that the tigers must learn they have to convert early and get to a fast start and not rely on a CLM comeback and 4th down
I posted this in the official game thread before I got off last night, but I feel it's more relevant here. It's been a long time since LSU has been blown out like this. We'll see what this team is made of in the coming weeks. Maybe they'll regroup and come out swinging like UGA did last year and make a season out of this yet. These kinds of things have to happen to maintain an edge. They got sloppy and it cost them in this game. But it's only one game...and against a team from the East. We still control our own destiny in the West, and we may see these guys again with a better gameplan and more experience. It's a tough pill to swallow but we'll have to get it down and keep moving forward. As always, Geaux Tigers! I wouldn't want to be South Carolina next week!
