this right here is true, but Jesus Christ, how many phenomenal freshman making phenomenal plays have you guys seen the last few years!? seems like every team has at least one except LSU. with the way LSU recruits, you would think we'd see our freshman contribute more instead of them having to sit around in the stable for two or three years waiting for their chance. that is what excites me the most about having billy gonzales. he was around florida when they were running guys in and out of the game and keeping everyone fresh and ready for a big play. and before people start rattling off about CLM not playing RS, all i have to say is that it was obvious the kid didn't know the playbook, why else in hell would he not be on the field? and who cares about the lack of respect? honestly, LSU deserves SQUAT! no matter their recruiting classes or their national championships -- that's in the past. they need to beat florida and bama and not blow games and lose to inferior teams like ole miss and arkansas if they want respect. i agree that auburn and arkansas shouldn't be picked over LSU, but face it guys, LSU has been choking the last few seasons. it's time for that to end so we can get back to LSU football. i'm ready for it. i was in a coma when LSU won the 2007 title, so i haven't had much to cheer about the last three seasons, i want to see some LSU football now, dammit! :hihi:
There's a lot of money being thrown around for new facilities, too. Here's a look at Auburn's new indoor practice field; `Huge step forward,' says coach Gene Chizik | al.com
I'm all for anything that gives Bama or Florida any kind of serious in-state recruiting competition again.
Like it or not, it's all about what have you done for me lately, and lately we have crumbled late in games. We haven't shown the ability to dominate, nor have we shown the explosiveness to control games. That ends this season. We will/are be back.
Good point. We used to own the fourth quarter. I know this has been discussed a lot in many threads, but that's because it's true. The Tigers used to wear down opponents, last year it was the opposite. I'm sure better brains than mine have noticed this and are, hopefully, addressing it. If not, might be another long season. However, for the time being, I'm going to imagine a team that will please us all coming to a stadium near you. :geaux:
Yep, and all that starts up front. Hopefully with Nasty Drake Nevis anchoring the middle we'll be able to get back to playing LSU style football on defense. I have been disappointed with our DL the past couple of seasons. The OL had a rash of problems too, including depth and strength at the point of attack. Those issues should be addressed somewhat, at least I hope so.
You know, it's funny you said that. I've always said it's better for LSU if Alabama and Auburn are both good, instead of one being dominant over the other. It seems that rarely happens, though. Chizik is doing something that most Auburn coaches haven't been able to do, and that is to get recruits that Alabama wants, and that's no small feat these days, considering who the Alabama coach is. Over the years, they really have only occasionally targeted the same kids.
Why exactly do we deserve all of this respect?? 8-8 in the last two years in the SEC is not exactly powerhouse stuff. What?? You want us ranked in the top 10??
