I know nothing of the situation, but VK is a K-State grad. None of us here would question, for a second, why an LSU grad wouldn't jump at an opportunity to coach for us? Perhaps, he loves K-State.

I think it is time to start a new thread that states "DCs Found: Mallory/Peveto" No changes to the staff are planned obviously.

I would certainly jump at the chance to be sole DC at my alma mater or Co-DC at my alma mater if I were moving up from positional coach. I would however not jump at the chance to be Co-DC at my alma mater, if I had already succeeded at being a sole DC at the highest level already.

And I guess alma mater doesn't matter as much to coaches see Rich Rodriguez.

Ya know I can see your point on this... but LSU is a much bigger program than K-State (like comparing the Dallas Cowboys to the Detroit Lions). We could offer more money and Prestige to this guys resume, so I do not buy the Alma Mater sway of this.
I think it boils down simply to the fact that we are not changing the staff, atleast not enough to bring in a DC and that we never offered VK a position. IMO and I would be willing to bet my right *** on this.

It's possible that Snyder got VK to go out there by promising him he will be the head-coach-in-waiting if he does. I'm sure VK would love to be head coach at his alma mater.

Snyder is outstanding at picking assistant coaches:

During Snyder's first tenure, a number of his assistants became head coaches at other Division I schools. These coaches include Phil Bennett, Bret Bielema (University of Wisconsin-Madison), Jim Leavitt (University of South Florida), Mark Mangino (University of Kansas), Bob Stoops
(University of Oklahoma) and Mike Stoops (University of Arizona).

And Snyder is a big-time figure at K-State. Heck, they renamed their football stadium after him. The guy had six 11-win seasons as K-State coach.

Does anyone else find it interesting that Chavis hasn't accepted a position yet?

This is the ONLY good sign imo about the whole situation. His lack of job confirmation to another school is all that keeps my hopes up.

VK has been out at Clemson for quite a while. Chavis is just dangling out there.

If Dabo had a real chance with Chavis wouldn't he have already pulled the trigger.
