I was ready to reply nope, but Ole Miss might disagree. He suddenly has a defense to go with his high powered offense.
How many times have we watched an offense struggle to run the ball, look across the line of scrimmage and see the defense loading the box with eight, and we're saying to ourselves, "that makes sense, we can't get a hat on a hat?" A lot. Ole Miss went with five in the box last night and Louisville still couldn't run the ball. In my eyes that wasn't an improved Ole Miss defense, it was Louisville sinking farther down under Saterfield. We can find around 30 wins for the Cardinals in the last five years. Maybe, maybe, a third of those wins are against teams with winning records—a good majority of those being 7-6 type teams. How many wins did they have last season? Four, all against teams with losing records. Louisville isn't a good football team. And, I don't believe Ole Miss has a defense.
Then some wealthy boosters are going to have to put up a lot of money to buy out O's contract, because there's no way LSU can.
Satterfield inherited a shit show in Louisville. It hasn't gotten any better. He is having a lot of staff turnover now. His family misses Boone, he been on a pretty hot seat. Look for this to be his last year there.
i live in central ky and get a lot of louisville from local tv.... he's been a major disappointment at UL but i'm sure that recovering from petrino will take longer than suspected... charlie strong should never have left....
Saban might not have regretted hiring him, but by the time Kiffin left Saban was done with him. Kiffin has a way of wearing on people. which means he would have a short shelf life with boosters if he isn't winning big,
