Probably a lack of playing time in New Orleans. In Dallas, they are known for playing a lot of bench players. and Bass has stepped up, no doubt. I was happy for him when I found out he would be goin to Dallas, but i would definitely be happier knowing that he will be going home with the Mavs after CP3 and the Bees sweep them.

Right. He was with the Hornets for 2 years and rarely got off the bench, and then they let him go. Scott barely gave him a chance.

well that kind of stuff happens all the time. Players aren't doing well at one place for whatever reason, go to some other time and are suddenly really good.

I watched a lot until I just couldn't take it anymore. The defenses were allowed to mug the offense, the players could not hit mid range jump shots and players refused to run their coaches offenses. Utah was about the only team I liked watching for several years. I'd try to watch the playoffs but too many 85-62 games drove me away.

Then a couple of years ago I watched all of the western division games and started getting back into it again, that year damn near every series was great and I saw the game was becoming a coaches game again. And the players were shooting much better I thought.

Scott did give Bass some opportunities last year, especially when West was out. Bass started the first couple of games and did fairly well, then slumped really bad. Scott might not have handled him too well as Bass was always extremely nervous when he was on the floor and couldn't even catch the ball a lot of times much less dribble and shoot.

The change evidentally helped him out immensely.

the NBA has never had a big emphasis on coaching, you can tell the difference in a game if you have a really good coach. However, the marketing of the NBA has always been on the superstars. You are definitely watching the wrong league if you want coaching.

Thats one thing I wondered why did he let Bass go it wasnt like he was costing the hornets anything. Would've been a great addition to the hornets. I wish him the best of luck and hope he continues to play hard and improve.
