fyi. he had a big game last night in the loss to N.O. not that i watch the crappy product the nba puts out, but i do keep up with tigers (even if they do make stupid career decisions).
I had commented to someone last night about it.. Basically it sure was nice to be able to cheer for him as he had a good game because ultimately it would not matter due to the obvious outcome of the game. Best of both worlds! He was playing with so much emotion last night. I remember him making a great play then going to the bench all fired up during a timeout. The rest of the mavs gave him a wtf look as they were totally somber... and they wonder why they can't succeed in the playoffs!
the last reg season game against the bees, he was dominating inside. blocking shots and throwing guys around. he plays his ass off against the team that traded him thats for sure. he was impressive. and the nba playoffs are pretty exciting, when you actually have a dog in the hunt.
I was happy that he was doing so well. Had the Hornets been losing, however, it may have been a different story. I was at the game last night and couldn't bring myself to boo him while he was at the line.
Yes, Brandon was a monster while he was in, he played the pick and roll against Chandler/Paul better than any of the other Mavs too. I didn't watch the NBA for about a decade or more, but the product they put on the floor now is the best it's been since Bird, Magic, etc. were running around in shorts. The Hornets play beautiful bball.
The really frustrating thing about watching Bass (and he's been a key reserve for the Mavs all year), is wondering why Byron Scott didn't see this kind of play in him? As bad as the Hornets' bench has been at times this year, how valuable could Bass have been for them off the bench?
I thought Bass was a free agent signee? He's averaging 8 pts and 4 rebounds a game. As much as I'd like to see him play as a Hornet, it's hardly what I would call a bad move. Perhaps Brandon took more money in Dallas or felt that he would get more PT?
