First of all, Crowton IS a genius. Let's get that clear. To do what he has done with a QB who obviously is very raw, but has made him look like a seasoned vet at times, mostly due to the fact that he puts players in position to make plays and be successful, is a testament to Crowton. The only flaw in Crowton's gameplan was to not open it up from the start when he saw that the Gators were hellbent on taking away the run. We had some plays over the middle and over the top that would have burnt a questionable Florida secondary. I am sure he has second-guessed himself on that. Those 2 touchdowns on back to back drives were pure genius at work against a D that thought they were invincible up until that point.
Yea but the band kicked ass. They played the first down cheer after two 5 yard penalties in a row. That was killer!
First of all, if you think that Crowton is calling the I-formation, you are crazy. Crowton probably never ran that (other than goal line) in his coaching career! Go look at Louisiana Tech, BYU, Oregon... Secondly, what was the thing that everyone complained about when Jimbo was here? too conservative on first down running out of the I-formation. What is the complaint now that Crowton is here? too conservative running out of the I on first down. Coincidence? I think not teapot...Miles is the one pushing the I-formation. Back in the Jimbo days, there would be some crazy read option going on before it was popular. That all changed when Miles showed up. I am not down on the O-coaches. do i think Miles is a great game day coach? Not even close (see Auburn game last year). But he can recruit, the players love him, and he is a quality fella. However, i don't think Crowton is the issue...
Really?!!? I could have sworn it was Saban and Jimbo coaching in the Sugar against OU. Seems like I remember DiNardo and Morris Watts ran it quite a few times too. You would think someone complaining about coaching wouldn't pick a game the WE PHUCKING WON as an example of "poor gameday coaching"
