four white women and two white men; three Black men and one Black woman; and two mixed-race women. me either but i do have a degree in law....well its an undergrad degree and its in "international politics and law", but i am proud of it so i mention it as much as possible
we discussed before how when a republican does something bad, the media is critical of that republican. when a democrat does something bad, "republicans pounce" and the criticism is still for the republican. here is a great example from today: https://www.cnn.com/2021/04/20/politics/maxine-waters-kevin-mccarthy-minnesota-police/index.html so even though waters is at fault, we are criticizing republicans. this is sort of like saying "wonderful democrats destroy economy, idiotic republicans angry!". no matter who does something stupid, the criticism is for the republicans.
Fox News just showed Maxine Waters' written request for a police escort into the riot scene so she could rile up the rioters a little more.
The double standard or lack of standards is appalling. I wish the police had refused. And to hear her, Pelosi and every major news network, even NPR blow it off as nothing is infuriating. The US is turning into a Banana Republic so fast it's making my head spin.
The judge responded to Waters in part by urging politicians not to talk about the case until after the verdict. The response? Biden makes a statement today, and he doesn't express confidence in the jury.....No! He says he hopes we get the "right" verdict. Not justice....the "right" verdict. smfh
Jury reached a verdict. Will be read 3:30-4:00 Central. Quick return usually means guilty verdict. Could be Murder 2, Murder 3 or manslaughter.

Guilty on all three counts. George had high blood pressure, an enlarged heart, fentanyl and methamphetamines in his system. So the fuck what. None of that killed him that day. Handcuffed on the ground while restricting his breathing by putting a knee on his neck for 9 minutes was the driving factor. This is a win for everyone who might be high or out of shape but are killed by a cop using undue force.
