It is no surprise that he would wait until after the bowl to make changes. Between recruiting and preparing for the bowl, there just isn't enough time to do a good search.
What if Peveto is doing really good work with recruiting? Miles may want to ask him to step back from DC and just coach the DB's or LB's while being a full time recruiting coordinator. That would let him finish the bowl game without insulting Peveto and present him with a parallel job that maintains his salary and status. I remember that years after Stovall was fired there was talking of making him a Head Recruiter with no coaching responsibilities. If Peveto pulls in the bulk of a great class why not want him for that kind of position? Bo Pelini relies heavily on Tom Osbourne for alumni relations and recruiting.
Asked if he feels any pressure from any outside sources to change his defensive staff, Miles said, "No, none at all. None at all." http://www.theadvertiser.com/article/20081212/SPORTS/812120327/1006
What else is he going to say? "Oh, sure. Mr. X and Mr. Y from the TAF boosters have been handing me my azz after Ole Miss and Arky." Basically, he just said "I'm not going to talk about this until we beat Ga Tech."
What if we all decided to use a fancy font? Here's what that might look like. I think it's distracting. BTW - Peveto IS doing a good recruiting job.
