Well im a little worried but not angry because the big time recruits usually dont commit till the last month are so before signing day...but ill take 10 4 stars anyday not much difference...but there is no way with the wins and the atmosphere that LSU provides they should be getting out recruited bye schools that arent even relevant on the national scene...hopefully we will close strong like last year but we have got to sure the defensive side of the ball particularly at LB an DE not worried about the secondary LSU had a knockout recruiting class when it came to safties an db's last year....
DE is tough to figure out because we could lose both our starters or we could lose neither. It depends on whether Tyson goes pro & Pittman gets an extra year of eligibility. Either way, we get Ricky Jean Francois back next year which will be huge & we're recruiting a 5 star JUCO DE that could step right in. LSU currently has 3 LB commits, and between the UF & Auburn games we're hosting 3 Rivals 100 LBs.
I am tired of saying that stars mean next to nothing. Let's look at LSU's best players. Flynn: 4 * Zenon: 3 * Dorsey 4 * Hester 2 * C. Jackson 3 * T Jackson 3 * Beckwith 4 * Holliday 3 * LaFell 3 * Point I am saying is that you don't have to be the consensus 5 * stud to make an impact. I take all of the above players here over 5 * signee Xavier Carter who did nothing while he was here except knee balls at the 1-yard line.
your right i just hopr pittman gets the extra yr i dont think tyson will leave i dont think he is having the season he wanted so far especially after the huge spring he had
I don't see Pittman getting an extra year of eligibility, but we're going to try it so we might be able to. Tyson doesn't have the stats that we expected, but the scouts are seeing plenty from him. If he wanted to leave early, he definitely could. Just a gut feeling, I don't think he'll leave early.
From what I understand, Pittman is unquestionably eligible for an extra year. The question is whether he wants it.
Well, Miles has proven he can bring in top 10 classes. He's also proving that he can be an above average "X's and O's" coach too (how many coaches out there either 1) would have the STONES to go for it on 4th down as often as he did ...and 2) have plays executed to perfection each and every time. IMO, coaches like Ron Zook and DiNardo are examples of coaches that can recruit well (Meyer can thank Zook for Florida's National Championship talent) and Saban wasn't exactly handed keys to a broken down car (there was talent when Saban arrived). But reguardless of the talent that each one of those coaches brought in, neither of them showed to be particularly good at actually coaching. Tubberville, on the other hand, is a prime example of a coach that doesn't nec. bring in 5-star recruits "hand-over-fist" to his school each year, BUT, he and his staff get the MOST out of the large amount of 3 and 4 star players they do get. Miles has done better than Tubberville in terms of getting high-ranking recruiting classes, AND he's getting outstanding results from everyone--no matter what they came to us ranked as and THAT's all you should be caring about. Who really gives a sh*t how many stars a player has attatched to their name coming out of high school?! I only care about their production once Miles gets them on campus.
You haven't a clue what you're talking about if you say the stars mean next to nothing as if the stars were just blindly given out. Way to conveniently leave out the five stars... K. Williams- 5 stars Early Doucet- 5 stars R Perrilloux- 5 stars T. Tolliver- 5 stars Nobody is claiming that. Congrats, you took the worst example of the five stars. For every five star bust, I can name you five 2 to 3 star busts. Carter is just one out of all of our five stars that was a bust. Usually they're given a low ranking cause something is lacking and needs work. Lafell was a three star. You think it could have anything to do with his inability to consistantly catch the ball, just a guess. Not saying he can't be coached into a great receiver, but he obviously displayed these inabilties in high school that prevented him from being highly rated.
the guy who made the original msg implied that LSU is being outrecruited. I was just stating that that isn't true. Glad you took such great offense to my msg, though. P.S. I said in my list "LSU'S BEST PLAYERS" I don't think I was wrong, b/c none of the above players are starters at this moment in time. Granted, one is because of injury, but still.
