I was thinking the same a few days ago but it seems like a majority think FSU is out of it now.

Man would getting Mario Edwards take a little of the sting out of losing Collins, Edwards is a beast and proved it last night. I sure hope he takes that visit and Miles goings into recruiting overload on him. What do you think that interior D-Line would look like with Edwards and the Freak side by side when they are upper classman, how hard do you think it would be to run up the middle on us then. Ahhhhh now that would take the sting out of the Collins defection.

He weighed in a lot heavier then i thought he would. Something like 297. We have had big DE's before (tyson jackson, marcus spears) so it'd be interesting to see where he'd end up playing for us.

Geauxtigers45 - this does not take much to figure out, I would venture to say wherever Edwards plays he is destine to play on the inside. He is 6'4 290lbs right now. Look at our 2 beasts Logan & Brockers both were DE coming out of high school at Logan/272lbs & Brockers/255lbs there frames could hold more weight and they were very strong, they were moved inside. Edwards shows his frame will hold 300lbs look for anyone who gets his signature if not immediately within his freshman/sophomore season to be moved inside. And if he were smart he would look at how many DT's we have not only put into the NFL in the past 10 years but how many 1st rounders!!!!!

Mario Edwards your best route to the huge payday in the NFL is through D-Line State U or better known as LSU!!!

stevescookin - props to Covington that is where I was born and raised. But I am not trying to change his position, hell I just hope he commits to us. But it does not take a rocket scientist to know that with his size if his weight stays around 290-300lbs or bigger, he won't be playing on the edge that much that is all.

That is not trying to change anyone's position just looking at what probably reality is. Argue with it as much as you like put 6'4 300lbs DE at LSU are few and far between.

More importantly who cares all I care is that he puts his John Hancock on the Tigers dotted line!!!

how long have you watched LSU football? Like i listed tyson jackson marcus spears etc. We have had success with big DE's before. He has plenty of speed. also, think about the possibilities. On first and second down have him as that run stopping end. Third down slide him inside next to freak or brockers, put two speed rushers on edge and watch out. Kinda like the giants do.

It's natural to think he might be moved inside but if his weight can be kept under control and he stays quick, I don't see why he can't play inside and outside.
