    I

    Get

    It.

What I don't get is placing them in the 3rd spot last week. Perhaps ONLY to serve the point that the big12 needs to grow up and provide a better vehicle for crowning a champ.

    No brainer.

Plus committee got to wash its hands of the "One champion" "Co-Champion" self induced debacle.

Plus "body of work" is my new most hated phrase.

To be completely clear, my bias streams from the fact that TCU was the most equipped team to beat bammer. The last thing I want to see is saban hoisting another national championship. Bammer will win out and I guess, FCU will soon receive their due. OSU knows the air in the superdome does not favor the big10, so there...

thats not my reasoning. i just think they are a top 4 team but i think youre correct. even though I think baylor deserves the h2h. the fact the stupid committee put them 3rd left them no viable reason to leave them out after winning by 50+. i guess i just hate the committee.

Are you still living in the 50's? There is no "innocence" in college football (unless the jury says so) It has long been a multi billion dollar business and is getting bigger and bigger every year. Baylor and TCU how they feel about the innocence of the student athlete. Rah rah, sis boom bah, boola boola, where is our moola?

I think it will be interesting to see the Saban vs Meyer love fest by the media. I may vomit Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Years meals with all the worship that will follow. Can both teams lose?
I think the Ducks get a break with the semen-oles in the Rose Bowl.

Why do you think The Ohio State University even got in over Baylor and TCU? Sure, Bama FSU would have been a great first round TV ratings matchup but Bama-OSU is even more TV friendly. They are already talking on ESPN about the Saban-Meyer confrontation. The hype never stops.

You missed the point entirely. There is and should remain a difference between the NCAA and pro football. Extending the playoffs will only close the gap and we will have the NFL lite. If you are in favor of the NFL lite then there is nothing I say that will change that but if you truly favor the the NCAA for it's difference to the league then this talk about extending the playoffs needs to stop.

Au contraire mon frere! The playoffs should have been set at 8 to start with instead of 4. Right now 2 deserving teams are left out and are holding the bag. Baylor and TCU. With 8 teams they would be in. Mississippi State and Michigan State as the only viable 2 loss teams would round out the field.

When you talk about the NCAA you are really referring to the FBS (or D1A) division only. The FCS (D1AA) and the other lower divisions have long had real playoffs. 16 teams in D1AA and up to 32 in the lower divisions. Just because those players play in front of 1000 fans instead of 100,000, are not on TV and a lot of the players have to pay their own way through college doesn't lessen the demands on their time and their bodies in playing up to 16 games for the 2 teams in the finals. Compared to those players the players in the FBS division are treated like royalty. (unpaid royalty unless you count "under the table" benefits.)

If you prefer the "innocence" and rah rah student athlete experience I suggest that you become a fan of one of your local lower division teams. You'll have to actually go to their games because you won't find them on any of your cable channels.
