Yes. Ignore the *******s, and take the tiger baiting in stride. If you can do that and be a good fan, people will return the favor. Airline isn't that close really, but not too bad if you can beat the traffic rush. I'd recommend Chimes for food if this is your first time, it can't be beat (Except for the long line that is sure to be there on gameday). For after game partying, Varisty, Soranos, or Walk-Ons. When those close, make your way to Louie's for a big cheesy lou, or the best omelet and hashbrowns this side of the Mississippi.
The only good bar in walking distance from the stadium for after the game would be Serrano's. There's also the Varsity right there if you enjoy graphic tee's, coke & 'roids. For Friday night, I'd recommend the Tiger land area of bars. JL's is my favorite. Fred's is cool too, with much bigger space & wider variety of people. Reggies is cool if you like high school chicks. There's also a few bars up closer to the interstate - seems to be primarily sketchy people, off-duty Gold Club strippers & BRCC students. I'll probably be in downtown BR - little bit older crowd.
For a visiting fan, I'd NOT recommend Tigerland bars. That can be rough wearing red in that neck of the woods.
Probably where you are going since none of the asians care about football. Just kidding Ill probably be down there too.
true that. I just think Tigerland -- Fred's, Reggie's, etc... Tigerbar is the peak of the drunkedness and the peak of the tools. I really wouldn't know because I have never been a visiting fan in Baton Rouge. But if I were one, I'd join you downtown. More mature crowd out there imo.
