We all loved Nick Saban when he was here including me. I didn't want him to go and I was sorry when he left. He brought us back to playing good football and there is no denying that. If he were still the HC at LSU I'd still be a fan of his. But he isn't. He decided to move on and thats okay, it was all business for him. Nick coaches at a rival school now and it wouldn't bother me the least if Alabama never won another football game, no disrepect to some of the well respected Bama fans who post here on occasion. No sir, there is a new sheriff in town and his name is Les Miles. :thumb: Just as when I supported Nick Saban despite some of his flaws, so do I now support Les. Give more for Les !
You didn't use the right search enginge :hihi: http://thewizardofodds.blogspot.com/2007/04/nick-prick.html
I thought it was 12-2, losing the 2 most important games of the season. I think we can all agree the SEC West was a disappointment this year. If you think about it, we were one player and a defensive scheme away from being tops in the SEC. Don't get me wrong... Great mind for the game, but I just dont think he has the people skills to keep any kind of continuity going at Bama. Or anywhere else for that matter.
Nick also vaulted LSU to where they are now. The two were a good fit together and both sides knew that. We've had other coaches come in and have little/no success even though were are in some of the most fertile recruiting grounds in the country. Guys ike Archer and Dinardo were only able to scrape the surface and tease us a little bit. Nick figured out how to take that talent and send us to a level most of us only dreamed about. He used our local talent to get National respect. Then used that National respect to turn us into a powerhouse able to recruit the whole Country instead of just our backyard. Nick may not be where he is without LSU, but there is just as good a chance that LSU wouldn't be where we are right now without Nick Saban either. We needed each other and took advantage of our time together. With all of that said, I hope he never wins another game and retires without ever sniffing another title.
I'd like to add, F him and his little debbies. He pissed away his relationship with us when he got paid by the gumps. He is recruiting Bama into relevance again, hope we can trump with our own class, but he's right back in contention for #1.
so nick saban could have gone and coached anywhere other than LSU from 2000 to 2004 and he would have 1 national title a stint as a head coach in the NFL and be one of the highest paid coaches in the NCAA. He rebounded a program, thanks nick, i appreciate it, now piss off. Les Miles beat Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn, and Florida in the same year, and won a national championship in his 3rd season, and i dont see anyone jumping around calling Les Miles an excellent coach, or hailing him like Saban is hailed, and why? Nick Saban was a mediocre coach before he came to LSU, so was Les Miles, both have benefitted from LSU, and being in the mesopotamia of college football, right in between Texas and Florida. They are both good coaches who recognized a great situation and opportunity for success. You can call me silly and jaded all you want, im glad he polished up a program that was in an 8 out of 10 year slump, but he is gone, and he is the enemy, not because he left, because he coaches a rival SEC West team.
