Irma Thomas was a big deal in NOLA when I was in high school, she performed at my senior prom at Warren Easton.
Went to college in nola and every few weeks we'd have TGIF, big outdoor party in the student quad, and always with live music. Irma Thomas was the only act for whom all activity would stop and the crowd would gather at the stage. Everyone else was just background music, but Irma was a performer.
Never know about you. You can be kinda crusty at times and wanted you to know there was no ill will, just in case.
