No. It was a freshman lineman that did. Fairly wasn't an offensive lineman, was he? EDIT: Also, Fairley was in high school that year, I believe.
Fairley had a pretty impressive resume of dirty hits at Auburn though. His thing was to drive the shoulder cleanly to the mid section, but then wrap his arms around the thighs to get the QB off his feet, then drive him into the ground with the shoulder. He did it to an LSU QB (Jamarcus, maybe?) when the play was blown dead at the snap, very blatantly late, but no call.
To be fair, he's calmed down as a pro. Only had one late hit call last season that I remember, I think in the Chiefs game.
Nick did it against Aaron Murray, Uga, one of the dumbest officials in the SEC did not want to control the game and allowed some very dirty play by Nick.
