Nice precedence being set...Super Bowl loser to get a rematch too?

Kudos to the Real Men of Genius - Sports Media, for setting a new precedence, where actually winning the big game just isn't enough. Winning is now subjective, scoreboards mean little or nothing. This leaves every game not won by an "Acceptable margin" apparently, subject to a possible rematch. Who determines what that acceptable margin is?

Should LSU now go directly to guns & proclaim for instance, the 2008 LSU/Bama game open for further review & scrutiny? How about 2010 LSU/Arkansas? Perhaps LSU can go ahead and put W's in the win columns, because we don't feel like the best team won &/or just don't like the outcome. ESPN & CBSsports would give the idea a :thumb:

It really sucks to come on here and see LSU fans talking to other LSU fans in this manner.

It sucks that the question of this rematch is likely to have the unintended effect of dividing us here.

 

I just want to hurt bama. If beating them again breaks their heart and causes a gump meltdown , I'm all in.
If they don't get to go to the big game and it breaks their heart, great!

As long as they don't win another game this year I'm all for it. If they go to a lesser bowl and lose because they are bummed out that they missed out on the rematch, wonderful.

If lsu beats them again, even more wonderful.

I just want bama to suffer. I want their fans to cry. I want them to be humiliated and disheartened. I want saban to be butt hurt.
Whatever happens is cool as long as bama loses and suffers as much as earthly possible.

The thread title is retarded. Should Super Bowl 42 have not been played beacuse the Patriots beat the Giants by 3 in the regular season? We all know how that ended and it was quite a great game.

Regular season is regular season, championship is championship. To win the championship you win the championship game, that's it.

All this talk about the AP voting LSU the champs regardless of what happens in the BCS game just makes me sick.

Champions win championship games no matter who they are lined up against. Period.

This thread is based off of flawed logic. The LSU-Bama game was not the Super Bowl. It was a regular season game. There have been countless times where teams that have played in the regular season have met in the playoffs again.

I hold by my belief that if we had a playoff system We'd be playing Bama for the NC again. All this crying about "they don't deserve a shot" needs to stop. You sound like you're afraid for this team to play them again. I personally welcome the challenge so gumps have no excuse when we hoist the crystal ball. I want Miles to beat Saban with all the chips on the table.
