Sounds like a good move to me. And simple, too.

I kinda like, kicking team doesn't lose on a decent return and 2 short passes. Would extend the game on average, would not enjoy that.

NFL owners pass playoff overtime rules modification - ESPN

Rule passes, and its basically like this:

Coin toss winner scores a td game over.
Coin toss winner scores a fg, other team gets a shot.
Coin toss winner gives up a TD on a turnover game over, also if they give up a safety game over.
Coin toss winner punts, opposing team scores game over.

I don't like this rule, i think the sudden death thing is fine considering it's about 50/50 on the coin toss winner actually winning the game in overtime.

Plus this is only a playoff modification. They should rename this rule the "save brett favre's ass rule"
