I saw "Williamson County" in that article, and thought it was the one by Austin. Man, if that had been the case, they would have thrown him UNDER the jail.

Perhaps the 5-0 didn't see his full-page ad apologizing and saying he was turning his life around. Tough to do that when they're constantly going after him! :hihi:

The Pacman doesn't wanna face justice in Williamson County, Texas. A guy just got around 80 years for repeat DWI. Last year, a guy up on his 8th DWI got life. I think John Bradley, the Williamson Co. DA must be a direct descendent of Judge Roy Bean.

    :hihi:

Are you being sarcastic? If not, how is that even legal? I mean, I don't advocate drunk driving, but I'm sure most of us have driven before after having a few pops. 80 years and life seems to be cruel and unusal punishment.

It wouldn't surprise me. Defense attorneys generally hate working in that county, and Lord help you if you're a defendant there with an appointed attorney. Right to Counsel kinda goes right out the window, in my humble opinion.

There are enhancement provisions in the statute which raise the range of punishment for subsequent DWI offenses. The sentences mentioned above happened. And there are many others. Criminals find life easier down the road in Austin.

Wow, perhaps I was more right than I had hoped...

Funny that they would make a big deal about him having a Georgia license while living in Tennessee. Given his police blotter, I think he splits his time.

I lived in Jersey for almost two years before getting a license there. And I only did that so I could smooth the transition to Texas (Louisiana license was expiring.)
