If you have to play a grueling schedule, this is the best you can ask for, with the meat of the schedule starting 5 weeks in and Bama/A&M on the back end.
That's journalism. She could only hint at the hopelessness that David suffered from. She chronicled the isolation, but not the desperation that alcoholism brings...when your life is completely unmanageable. Alcohol can kill you....it can be a long, protracted suicide.
LSU actually had some good pretty QBs in the era. Following Ensminger/Woodley were Alan Risher (who played in the USFL), Jeff Wickersham (1st Tiger QB to ever pass for 5,000 yds), and Tommy Hodson (1st SEC QB to pass for 8,000 yards). Wickersham was also the QB for the Denver team in the 1988 Dennis Quaid movie 'Everybody's All American'.
