The really scary thing about Mett though is... think how much better he'd be this season if Cam was here last year. Dude has a serious arm, and in only a few months under Cam he's much more accurate, putting the ball where usually only the receiver can get it... and the willingness to stand tall in the pocket even though he knows he's going to take the hit. His upside is huge.
He pulls off that kind of performance against Florida's secondary with Easley baring down on him, then he can punch his own ticket to the big time.
And I fully expect LSU's offense, led my Zach Mettenberger, to put up 30 points on arguably the best defense in the nation.
Gonna make this call now, Pitt drafts Mett. Easy jersey change, just leave the ending, "berger." Roethlisberger to Mettenberger.
Yea, I did see them play the other night...........oh, that guy wearing #66, Faneca must be sad to see this guy wear that number. Same with the guy trying to replace Todd McClure at center.
Considering their respective histories in Georgia bars, the jokes will write themselves! I'm gonna guess Pitt drafts OL and RB before QB. My guess is...Tampa Bay.
Who would you project over Mettenberger right now? I watched Bridgewater and was not impressed whatsoever. That kid does not have an NFL arm. He is the type of QB you really need to be careful with, as he plays against inferior competition. I would have it as Manziel (dual threat), Mariota (dual threat), Hundley and then Mettenberger right now and the only first rounders I would consider. Then you have Murray, Boyd, Bridgewater, Hogan from Stanford, McCarron in the next group. Sean Mannion from Oregon State is a sleeper pick. Watch out for him.
Want to see a little more, but hes making a move up. Like with any player, I'm sure Cam is getting some calls from a few teams on his take of Mett going into the NFL. This is a deep QB draft, last year was light. One of the deeper in years.
