Heard this on the radio the other day and all I can say is I hope it happens. Something about the new CBA including a cap on how much rooks can sign for. Will eliminate all these bullchit hold outs and guys that have never taken an NFL snap getting huge contracts. The big question is how does it affect the eligable players for this draft? IOW, if player X is a Jr and has a chance to go (this being the last year of the big rookie contract) may not stick around for another year to fall into the new cap rule? Flip side, I wonder if in years to come it will keep players in college longer because that big pay day isn't there anymore? opinions?
Massive numbers of early draft entries this year. I can see a large number of early entrants not getting drafted at all because of numbers. I can also see NFL teams finding great value in the late rounds of the draft this year. Then after this year you will see guys leaving early a lot more because there will be no reason to come back to try and improve your draft stock, especially if the rookie contracts are performance based.
