 Alright, so Tyson wouldn't have gone before Dorsey. I didn't think Dorsey would go top 5 after his Jr year (made $20 on a bet he wouldn't go top 3 this year) - I figured him as more in the 15-20 range until he went & won all those awards while playing hurt. I still think Tyson's a first rounder next year.
I wouldn't have taken him that early, that's for sure. 1 - he's bound to get busted for the juice eventually, and 2 - his college production didn't match his hype.
Believe me, Gholston will be just fine. He has the skills, and showed it in tying the ohio state single season sack record, and even if some games aren't great, they're still solid. He also recorded the only sack against #1 pick jake long (played against florida, and though i'm not gametape sure, i'd guess derrick harvey, not giving up any sacks) He's only been playing since his soph year in high school. While I don't think he's on the juice, i admit i may have blinders on. I will tell you this, Vern is a real down to earth, and kinda quiet guy who has a very relaxed and friendly attitude. He does a lot of charity work with kids, and is a very humble guy. He is a ridiculous athlete, with some fantastic physical skills and only managed to muster enough motor to absolute dominate some games. Famous for his clothesline tackle of Albert Young: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AyWLtterFA On the topic of this thread specifically, or to at least end this rant, I think Dorsey is going to make a great NFL player, and from recent experience, good DT's are as hard to find as good drummers...they're the belly of your defense and great ones can schematically change a game by forcing the offense to move laterally, allowing speed in the back seven to make a lot of plays (especially in the NFL where everyone can run). like I said, he's going to make a great NFL player :thumb::thumb:
nothing against him personally. i just see him a combine freak more than a football player. have never been overly impressed with him. i think so too but i worry about his health. he tends to get nicked up because hes constantly being chipped by guys from many different angles because he is so dynamic. i didnt realize drummers were in short order. literally and figuratively. he has the athletic ability to be the star of the draft. pray for the jets it happens.
Good drummers are ridiculously hard to find, trust me on that one...any musician will tell you the same  and secondly, I was talking about Dorsey there at the end, though i think Vern will also be a great player, obviously. At this point, Dorsey's the proven talent, whereas Gholston is still learning the game. Should be fun to watch both of them on sundays!
